Near Misses

Please join us Thursday, September 13th for our monthly meeting. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:15AM, with the presentation to immedately follow from 12-1PM.

Speaker: Marsha Bevins, CSP, SMS

Marsha has over 25 years’ experience in the safety and health field as a safety engineer and manager and has worked in both the public and private sectors.   She began her safety career as a health and safety officer for a Department of Energy (DOE) contractor and progressed to

the level of safety and security director for a large multi-state manufacturing firm.   During her career she has led companies to seven corporate safety awards.

Marsha’s recent career has focused on Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) designed to recognize employers who are leaders in safety excellence.   Marsha was instrumental in leading three government contract

ors to VPP Star status, the highest honor obtainable.  She has participated on VPP assessment teams at government facilities and is certified in the private sector as an OSHA Special Government Employee (SGE).  In August 2012, Marsha received the DOE Contractor Champion of the Year award for outstanding performance and leadership in VPP.

Marsha’s community activities include serving as steering committee member and President of the Ross County Safety Council for over 15 years.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ohio River Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Marsha is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).  She holds a Master’s degree in Safety Management from Marshall University.
